Ability to operate office equipment: typewriter, computer, multi-channel tape recorders and transcription equipment, copier and fax machine. Knowledge and understanding of legal terminology and civil procedures. High school diploma or equivalent previous courtroom reporting experience, college course work, clerical or administrative experience or paralegal training preferred. Maintains exhibits, tapes and notebooks of all proceedings of the court. Transcribes record of proceedings when ordered. Records and reports all court proceedings. Court Reporters are responsible for maintaining evidence, exhibits and providing some scheduling duties on behalf of the Court, 16-20 hours/week. Responsible for the recording, transcription and preservation of all court proceedings. Salary – starts at $15/hour, compensation may increase relevant to experience Position – Court Reporter – Perry Township Small Claims Court in Marion County
